DESIGNING THE HOME FROM THE INSIDE OUT

The most cohesive custom homes begin with interior design involved early. NFID works alongside homeowners, builders, architects, and project teams to develop an interior vision that is integrated with the architecture rather than applied after it.

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW + SPACE PLANNING

We review plans through the lens of interior living, studying circulation, furniture relationships, focal moments, storage, and opportunities for stronger architectural connection.

MATERIAL + FINISH DEVELOPMENT

A complete material language is developed across flooring, tile, stone, cabinetry, hardware, paint, plumbing, and other interior finishes, creating continuity without repetition.

KITCHEN, BATH + SPECIALTY SPACES

Kitchens, bathrooms, bars, laundries, wine spaces, and other custom areas are developed with close attention to function, proportion, cabinetry, fixtures, and material transitions.

MILLWORK + ARCHITECTURAL DETAIL

Custom built-ins, wall treatments, ceiling details, fireplaces, trim, and other architectural features are designed to give the home identity and depth.

LIGHTING + ELECTRICAL DESIGN INTENT

Decorative lighting, reflected ceiling concepts, switching intent, and key electrical relationships are developed as part of the interior experience and coordinated with the appropriate project professionals.

EXTERIOR MATERIAL DIRECTION

Where included in scope, NFID develops exterior finish palettes, material relationships, color direction, doors, roofing, railings, pavers, and other visual selections to create a cohesive relationship between exterior and interior.

DOCUMENTATION + BUILDER COORDINATION

Approved design decisions are translated into organized specifications and design documentation so the project team has a clear reference for the intended result. Field verification, code compliance, engineering, permitting, and construction means and methods remain with the responsible licensed professionals and contractors.
